The album's title is Tribute, but it just as easily could be called Spectacle. Everything here is done on a grand scale, from its ambitious staging areas (the Taj Mahal and China's Forbidden City re-creations) to its large gathering of instrumentalists (more than two dozen) to the histrionics of two impassioned vocalists on a pair of the album's 11 tracks. The only thing missing seems to be the maestro himself--so submerged is the visionary-keyboardist in the mix. The musician showcased most often on Tribute turns out to be energetic violinist Karen Briggs, a familiar figure by now to all who have watched Yanni's global ramblings on television. The compositions and arrangements, it seems, are intended to be the stars as Yanni lives out his Beethoven-like dream sequence. Stylistically, the music ranges from urban smooth jazz to earnest orchestral sweeps. A grand concept, but not an entirely great result. --Terry Wood

Much of the stuff is virtually a mess of anxious or confused noise with some 4/4 or 2/4 drum beats that are often way too loud for the tune (if there is a tune at all). They can proudly stand side-by-side with some classical masterpiece. When I listened to the Adagio in C Minor and Tribute, I couldn't believe they are something from a New Age composer. Constantly listening to the stuff is actually bad for human health. I can't describe the emotion from his music. Nowadays many musicians can't be bothered to write something at basic harmonic level. Well, it's much easier to produce something incomprehensible with some heavy beats alright. And it's easy to call these pieces 'different'.Great works are simply unforgettable, that is.
I've bought this CD many years ago and I keep listening to it over and over again. The music of Yanni is one of my favourites and I do not have only this CD but certainly this is MY favourite one. Do not miss it.
This CD to me is one of his best I love it I had to buy a new one as I wore out my first one.
I'm blown away, this is one, if not THE best CD I have at home. I have listened to it hundreds of times. Truely.
I think this is one of the best CDs I own. This was probably one of the best purchases I've ever made.
